2008 AIA COLUMBUS CHAPTER CANSTRUCTION

Rogers Krajnak Architects, Inc. participated in the 2008 Canstruction event, where local architects built giant sculptures made entirely out of canned goods and other non-perishable foods to help feed hungry people in Central Ohio. All of the food used in the structures was donated to Operation Feed via Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

In response to t his year's theme, "One can make a difference," Rogers Krajnak Architects, Inc. constructed one giant can made of 8 different varieties of canned goods totaling 1760. The can labels were oriented to form the giant can's label, which was an image of a knife, fork, spoon and slice of bread: the logo of Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Team Rogers Krajnak Architects and Ruscilli salutes the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, which embodies the concept of harnessing the power of individual donors and volunteers to make a difference in the lives of so many central Ohioans suffering from hunger. Rogers Krajnak Architects team's entry was recognized for "Best Use of Labels."
