The Community Development for All People Corporation (CD4AP) is a faith-based, non-profit community development organization dedicated to creating a community and church that welcomes and cares for all people. The ministries of the organization include: a free clothing store, micro-enterprise jewelry business, and providing affordable housing. Working with a minimal budget, the renovated space accommodates approximately 3,000 sq. feet of free retail space, 4,000 sq. feet of community/worship space, 1,600 sq. ft of retail lease space, office spaces, and 5 low-income rental-housing units. Portions of the existing storefront, that had been infilled with brick by the previous tenant, were removed and new entry storefront was installed.
The mixed-use development of the site fit the goals of both the Owner and the City of Columbus for site redevelopment. The total renovation work, including a new fire sprinkler system, was completed for less then $25 per sq. foot.
