Rogers Krajnak Architects was commissioned by The Columbus Association for The Performing Arts (CAPA) to renovate the seating areas of Studio Theater Two. The project included a study of the sightlines and the installation of new railings along the existing aisles in three sections of existing seating. The goal for the project was to design the railings so that they were seamlessly integrated into the simple aesthetic of the black box theater. Rogers Krajnak Architects created full scale study models of several handrail designs for the client to review in the theater prior to approval and fabrication. The simple shape of the steel tube railings reflects existing steel tube railings and guards in other areas of the theater. The project has provided a safer environment for theater patrons while maintaining sightlines from the seating areas to all portions of the theater.
